Introduction to HE Concepts, an outstanding success...
16 June 2008 Rx is pleased to announce that 3 major pharma companies have made the decision to distribute the Introduction to Health Economics Concepts throughout their organisations for training purposes.
Introduction to Health Economics Concepts is our flagship book within our range of beginner’s guides to health economics. Other titles include;
Demonstrating the value of healthcare
Why do medicines cost so much?
How do I know I am getting the best medicine?
Health economics methodology
Introduction to comparative effectiveness and evidence based medicine
Introduction to biostatistics concepts
All titles are available from our website, as well as Amazon and other good book shops on the web.
Each booklet can be branded with a company logo on the cover; in addition, the strap line below (or similar) can be added:
“These booklets are made available by funding from XX Company, as an educational service”
The booklets are designed to be fully customised with minimal effort from the sponsor. There is a section where examples can be added that are pertinent to a specific therapy area or product, and the style of figures and tables can also be linked to other resources and marketing tools. Colours can be altered throughout to reflect product branding.
In addition, you may wish to add a customised foreword to express the views of one of your opinion leaders or of your own department.
Additional training and communication literature can also be added to compliment the booklets in the form of interactive modules or e-versions, placed on a company intranet, internet or from DVD-CD-ROM or flash drives.

HE Booklets
25 March 2008 We know only too well the challenges of communicating the rigor and value message of health economics to those who are less informed of this intricate science. It would be great if there was something available which they could read and magically know what you are talking about… interested?...read on!
Rx Communications in partnership with Greenflint have published a series of beginner’s guides which put the core principles of health economics into a digestible language that people can understand. Beginner’s guides currently in the pipeline are:
- Demonstrating the value of healthcare
- Introduction to health economics concepts
- Why do medicines cost so much?
- How do I know I am getting the best treatment?
- Health economics methodology
The Booklets are available in a generic format or they can be customized and branded to suit your organization and its culture.
In addition to the literature, Rx Communications also provide an interactive training module to work simultaneously with the booklets to support the learning process which can be situated on your internet, intranet or on a branded CD-ROM or flash drive.

Rx in Ireland
31 October 2007 The Rx Communications team was in Dublin last weekend for ISPOR’s 10th Annual European Congress. Steven Handley, Rx’s Head of Business Development, said ‘the event was a great success for visitors and for us as an exhibiting company. Our Health Economics Booklets generated a lot of interest from a whole spectrum of HE professionals. We were only able to showcase the first in the series, HE Terminology: A Beginner’s Guide, but we got some great feedback and many of the visitors are now contacting us to find out more about the rest of the series and how they can use them in their organisations’.
Rx Communications also caused a stir with its photo competition. A free digital camera and the chance to win a new iPod nano was the motivation to encourage visitors to take photos with the theme of ‘communications’. All the photos can be viewed in the gallery link below.
